One of the most popular teen-affiliated groups of the 21st Century, the Jonas Brothers (Joseph, Kevin, and Nicholas) were raised in the city of Wyckoff, New Jersey under the tutelage of musical parents.
The talented trio’s debut album It's About Time was released in August 2006 and their hook-filled power pop anthems earned the siblings a modest audience, particularly among fans of Radio Disney. In 2007, they signed on with Hollywood Records, a Disney-owned label that helped the group to rapidly expand its fan base. Sophomore album, Jonas Brothers, arrived in August 2007, supported by a number of Jonas Brothers appearances on the Disney Channel's various programs.
Reality television show Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream documented the band's life on the road, and the band's TV presence was furthered along by Camp Rock, a 2008 Disney Channel television movie that featured the brothers and up-and-coming star Demi Lovato. The movie launched the Jonas Brothers' next single, "Burnin' Up," which helped whet demand for the release of A Little Bit Longer later that year. In 2009 the trio released music from the 3D Concert Experience, along with the live concert film of the same name.
The multi-platinum Brothers received their first Grammy nomination this year, and have won a slew of awards from around the world, including an American Music Award, as well as multiple Kids’ Choice and Teen Choice awards.
Their highly anticipated new album Lines, Vines and Trying Times is scheduled for worldwide release on June 16, and first single, “Paranoid,” will hit the stores on May 8. The album showcases an incredible musical journey by the Jonas Brothers, as well as their growth as songwriters and musicians.
Explaining how the latest album’s title came about, Joe Jonas says, “Lines are the ‘proverbial’ lines people will feed you, and vines are obstacles that get in your way.” Kevin Jonas adds, “Trying Times can be relationships, or anything personal to you. No one is alone in that; we all go through it.”
Following the release of Lines, Vines and Trying Times Jonas Brothers are set to embark on the US portion of their “Jonas Brothers World Tour 2009” on June 20 in Dallas. The tour features guests Jordin Sparks and Honor Society. |
